The need for geographic literacy has never been greater or more obvious than in today’s tightly interrelated
world. Students must understand the world’s physical features, how they
blend with social systems, and how they relate and affect economies, politics and human interaction.
Humans have to know where they are going and where places are located in order to interact with others. Geography is a science that many people take for granted, yet use it on a daily basis. Where am I? How do I get there? These are questions that we ask ourselves each day. The skill
of using latitude and longitude teach students how to find the exact location of a particular place.
